Outdoor Gym at Maroubra

This consultation has concluded.

Tell us your thoughts on the location, layout and equipment for the Maroubra outdoor gym!

Randwick City Council has allocated funds in this financial year for the provision of an outdoor gym near the existing car park area at Jack Vanny Memorial Park at Maroubra. Next to the Coastal Walkway, the outdoor gym will be set in beautiful surroundings with close access to public transport, the car park and public toilets.

This equipment is ideal for those wanting low impact exercise and is especially good for seniors who want to exercise. The equipment can be set up as an exercise circuit or as separate working stations. A range of equipment could be installed to target cardio, strength and stretch based exercises. See the photo gallery for examples of the equipment in Liverpool. The equipment will help promote better posture, improved balance and greater flexibility, with opportunities to improve health and fitness while socialising in a safe environment.

Council wants to hear what the community thinks of this proposal and how they might use the gym equipment.

  • You can register to join a focus group and talk to Council staff about the equipment.
  • You can take 1 minute to  complete the quick survey to let Council know what you think.

The deadline to complete the survey  is 30 March 2012.
